Bed for the dog crate

Here's some shots of my first zipper project!

This is a box-pillow that will cover some high-density foam for a kennel mat for Stella (I know, I'm over the top with it))
I used exterior upholstery weight material.

If you can't tell by the photo this was some sort of two sided zipper where there's two different zipper cars and it can be opened by either end.

I ended up putting it in by exposing the teeth. I even tried my hand at a top stitch! and, check out the serging on the inside.

I watched a few youtube tutorials on zippers and asked everyone I knew how they do them.
Eventually, I'd like to learn the proper zipper installation technique!

what a hoot!

It's not perfect - the ends of the zipper need some minor adjustment....

Pink Cowgirl

This turned out great!
I'm extremely pleased with this shirt!
This shirt is for my friend, who is originally from Cheyenne, WY. . . transplanted in Washington DC.
You can take the girl out of Wyoming, but you can't take Wyoming out of the girl....

Purple Frog Shirt

Nice try... but not perfect!
This is my first froggy.... I had some trouble with this one, but I think I still like it.

Adult Rock Princess

Black fuzzy "Rock Princess" was out of stock... but I found something much, much better: sparkles! I can't wait to see it on the recipient. She really is a Rock Princess!

Custom car seat cover

Custom-made seatcover

Unsatisfied with the available seat covers, I made my own!

Because Stella sits in the cargo area, I needed it to cover the back side of the back seat. It's hard to find a seat cover that fits on the entire back seat!

I didn't cover the sitting part of the back seats.

Who doesn't need a splash of orange in the car?

Gaggle of headbands...

By popular demand... I made some more headbands.
Five in the original fabric, one "Taylor Swift Blue," a purple, and a bonus paisley pink.

They're super cute and I can't wait to see them on the recipients....

Niece's Ninth Birthday Gift!

My nieces to pieces is turning nine next week!
I've crafted two nifty pink shirts and a matching headband!
The headband was from the Blue Bird tutorial http://bluebirdstudio.blogspot.com/2008/09/ten-minute-headband-tutorial.html [thank you bluebird, it was so easy and fun!]

The headband's neat feature is that it uses a pony-holder for elastic. genius.

Here, I appliqued a "9" with the same material as the headband. She'll look super accessorized!

And, finally, the "rock princess" shirt! (front and back)

Mom's quilt

I finally finished mom's quilt top.
It's based on Denyse Schmidt's Flock of Triangles. I used mom's favorite color: PINK and supplemented with maroon, brown, beige.
Added bonus: an appliqued "P" to monogram it. She loves monograms!
